Motor Mouth aka veteran DJ Friction and his German compatriot, the producer Phillip Konig, return for their first EP in some three years. Released by the Grande Buffo imprint that impressed us with that Space Ranger EP recently, Revenge delivers a weighty six tracks of heavy analogue discoid funk. From the opening downward spirals of Martian synths that run throughout the lolloping "Down To Earth", Motor Mouth up the pace with acid funk of "First Steps". "Love Attack" is propelled along by an array of glistening arpeggiated synths and a heady disco bump, but it's the title track that stands out most. An immensely pleasing lack of restraint runs throughout "Revenge" with burning synth stabs complemented by the low bass, whilst intermittent bursts of cod rock guitar solos add a touch of ingenuity.
